Lowder earns NAR Senior Real Estate Designation

Kelley Lowder with Blue Sand Realty & Design has earned the nationally recognized Seniors Real Estate Specialist® designation from the SRES® Council of the National Association of REALTORS®.

Lowder joins more than 15,000 real estate professionals in North America who have earned the SRES® designation. All were required to successfully complete a comprehensive course in understanding the needs, considerations, and goals of real estate buyers and sellers ages 55 and older.

“Working with seniors to meet their housing needs requires an expert understanding of their lifestyle and financial needs, and the SRES® designation means that a REALTOR® has that understanding,” said Jennifer Rzeszewski, Vice President and Executive Director of the Center for REALTOR® Development. “Whether they are buying, selling, relocating, or refinancing, seniors can be confident that a REALTOR® with their SRES® designation will be able to help them every step of the way.”

Lowder acknowledges that she will still serve all buyers and sellers, but has a distinct knowledge that helps 55+ homeowners to find refuge. “I recognize there are varying real estate affairs to contend with for folks in this season [after age 55]. Some homeowners are entering the empty-nest season while others may be entering assisted living or a nursing home facility. It’s never too soon to start planning for these days, and homeownership is a major factor in that plan,” she says. “Considering that a house is often the biggest asset for an individual, it’s important to have a knowledgeable resource to guide you. That’s what I’m here for. Whether that requires my help to stage a home for sale or simply connect the client to an expert resource, I find it a joy to do so.”
